50 years

The Cape Breton Chorale has been thrilling audiences since its formation fifty years ago. The Chorale has given more than 200 performances throughout the Maritimes, England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland.

The Chorale has shared the stage with a variety of musical stars, ranging from Celine Dion to Rita MacNeil and has performed before numerous visiting dignitaries including Queen Elizabeth II.


Sister Rita Clare Music Scholarship


The Cape Breton Chorale is pleased to offer the Sister Rita Clare Music Scholarship to a student of the Cape Breton - Victoria Regional Centre for Education who plans to pursue full-time studies in music or music education at a recognized post-secondary institution. The successful applicant will receive a one-time scholarship of $800.

The music scholarship was established in 2009 in Sister Rita's name to honour her many years of dedication to the love of music and the pursuit of excellence in its teaching. Sister Rita Clare was recognized as an outstanding educator and director throughout her life.
